In recent times only few posts I wrote to my blog. Its all because I have moved and access to my PC (especially to the Internet) is very limited. Nevertheless, I would like now write a few words about another game that I like. And wich I often play in recent times.
This is (as you can see from title of the post) Puzzle Quest: Challenge Of The Warlords. I have a suspicion, that this toy is not only for PSP, but also to PC and other gaming platforms. But what to do - I myself with it "met" it on a PSP. Therefore, in the title of the article I pointed out the PSP, as the primary platform.
So - a toy. What is it like? Gameplay is quite standard for many "match 3" games. On the screen you can see something like a matrix or table with a huge number of cells in which nested colored balls or skull. The game always 1x1 - either with "computer" or with another player. In your turn you can change order of the balls in the neighboring cells vertically or horizontally. Three identical balls disappears. But gives certain bonuses. If we can reduce the time in some four or five balls - even better. In that case you will achive the extra turn, and even more bonuses. If you ordered not a balls, but the skulls, then the bonus of their disappearance - a hit to enemy’s health. Enemy? What enemies are? Interestingly, the whole game is not limited to puzzle with balls (otherwise, it is unlikely I would be interested). No! At first sight, the game resembles long-forgotten Lord of Realms on the PC. Only two-dimensional, but a beautiful map and your hero haunting on it, visiting castles, attacking any evil spirits and other villains. The skeletons, giant bats and rats, evil wizards and so on. With all of them you have to fight. And the very process of fighting and is in the puzzle with balls. Very simple. Won the puzzle - won the "battle." Not won - respectively, lost.
In these battles, you also achive gold and experience points. For this money you can buy additional structure (which is also something to give you) in your castle. And the experience points are added "levels" of character, his list of spells. So, authors were able to cross banal Lines with role-playing game in the medieval entourage with leveling, the receipt and assignments ... all as it should be a good RPG. Everything looks planned and balanced. What else do I like about this game - beautiful graphics and nice music! Frankly speaking, from time to time I turn on a game just to listen music from it.
